Upcycle: Cupcake Stand

Cupcakes are quite hot right now, so today I am sharing a super easy (and cheap!) project for making your very own cupcake stand.

You will need:

  1. Plate- Vintage or new will work, as long as the plate is small.  A salad/dessert plate is best.  I found a sweet vintage plate with floral details at the thrift store for $1.
  2. Glass or crystal candle holder-  These things are everywhere!  You probably already own a votive and/or candle holder, that could be used.  But if you don't, a large selection is always available at your local thrift store...mine cost $1.
  3. Glue gun- A crafty girl's best friend!
  4. Glass Cloche Dome (not pictured)- You could certainly add a little glass cloche (if you have one) to keep your cupcakes fresh, but it is not a necessity.

To Assemble:

  1. Flip the plate and the candle holder over, so you have two flat surfaces.
  2. Use hot glue to affix the candle stick to the bottom of plate.
  3. Let dry at least 24 hours.  I wouldn't put this in the dishwasher.

Such an adorable serving or display piece for cupcakes and other small treasures.

Special thanks to The Mad Planter for the yummy cupcakes.  They look good enough to eat, but are in fact fake!
