A client sent me this photo of a gorgeous nursery and commented that she wanted to create a pompom installation in her daughter's new "big girl" room.  She was looking for a resource to purchase the poms.  I quickly stopped her from shopping, because I knew I could DIY these babies!

Tissue Paper Pom Pom Tutorial
Materials:
Tissue paper
Scissors
Embroidery thread
Something to help you get sharp folds...I used a chopstick
Step 1:  Start with 6 sheets of tissue, and fold it accordion style.  You can fold it either horizontally or vertically depending on how large you want the finished pom.
Step 2:  Use the embroidery thread to tie the folded tissue in the middle.
Step 3: Cut the ends.  This was by far the hardest part, because you will have to cut through many layers.  You can cut it in many different patterns.  I did both a point and a curve.
Final Product.....
I ended up making 2 large, 1 medium, and 2 small poms in about 1 hour.  The only cost was the price of the tissue paper, and you may already have that!

Thank you for the tutorial!
