C: Is for Chair

Old mismatched chairs are often easy to find at thrift stores and flea markets.  However, you may be hesitant to buy one without a use for it in mind (beyond sitting of course).  I have found a collection of great uses for that average chair.

E is for Embroidery Hoops

Confession...I am a little obsessed with embroidery hoops.  They are just the perfect way to create inexpensive, versatile wall decor.  Here is how I am currently using this trend in my own dining room.  When I grow tired of these colors, I can simply swap out the fabrics.  Also, new fabric hoops can be easily added as I acquire more fabric I love.

C is for: Chevron

The chevron pattern, known on the street as the zig zag, is all the rage in design right now.  It has the classic appeal of a stripe, but is a little more fresh and unexpected.

B is for: Button

Growing up, my Grandmother had these tins of old buttons that I loved to dig through.  There was always a little treasure to be found, if you were willing to look.  I still love buttons, and I also love these great ideas for decorating with them.

A is for: Abacus

Lately, the abacus has been on my design radar.  I really like art that in addition to being visually interesting,  also serves a purpose.  Not that I am regularly counting things on an abacus, but the point here is I could, should that need arise!  Abaci (apparently abacuses is also aceptable) are available new and vintage, and at many price points.

My vintage abacus- a score at less than $30.00
