Another DIY Art Project

I have another great art project to share with you today.  It is quick, cheap, and sentimental...all my favorite things about a DIY art project.

Word Art- DIY Tutorial

Typography, word art, and subway art is a trend that I am glad to see is popular right now, because it is really easy to DIY!  I needed a large piece of art for above the couch in the family room, and of course I was on a budget.  So I was excited to try my hand at creating some word art of my own.

Art Update

I like to keep things fresh and interesting at my house by changing out art and accessories from time to time.  I recently acquired a great concert poster from one of my favorite bands, The Avett Brothers.  I have attended a handful of shows in the past, but was never able to buy one of the limited edition posters.  Well this time I was early enough to procure #81 of 100 posters printed.

All the Small Things

I love making small inexpensive changes to my home's decor.  I find that many times, these minor adjustments actually provide the most impact.  As I was putting away all of my Halloween decorations, and de-spookifing my photos, I decided to make a change.  A vintage paper coaster, that was purchased at a local sale, became new wall art.  Framing with an oversized mat, takes an ordinary utilitarian object and elevates it to art!

D is for: D.I.Y. Art

The right piece of art really makes a room, but can also be quite pricey.  Drawing or painting are not my strong suits, so I have always been inspired by art that I can actually make myself.  And saving a buck by finding beauty in the ordinary or unexpected is perfect for me.  I am thinking a few of these ideas might be perfect for you too!
